With a couple of players at his position limited at least until training camp, one young wide receiver needs to prove that he deserves the opportunities he is getting this spring.

Green Bay Packers fans all hope that the team has a full complement of wide receivers when the team takes the field for training camp at the end of July. Alternately, if that timeline does not work out, at least it would be nice to have a full squad by the middle of the preseason so all players get a chance to practice, participate in some preseason action, and make the roster decisions difficult for Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy.

Because let's face it - it's certainly better to have too many talented players at a position than not enough.

Talent is not a concern for many of the Packers' receivers, but translating the talent onto the field has been the challenge for a few of them. Of course, that sentence obviously refers at the very least to Jeff Janis, who will have plenty of chances this spring to prove that he deserves more chances when training camp rolls around.

We look at the receiver position, some more injury cleanups, and a few other Packers-related items in today's curds. Meanwhile, OTAs resume today, with the team's one open practice taking place on Tuesday of this week (weather permitting).

Jordy Nelson resuming on-field connection with Aaron Rodgers | Packers.com
We mentioned the work these two stars did together last Thursday during the Packers' open OTA practice, but it bears repeating. Nelson is doing everything other than team drills, and that "everything" includes running routes one-on-one for Rodgers.

Jeff Janis deserves a chance to prove he can be No. 3 receiver | JSOnline.com
Speaking of the wideouts, Janis has been one of the beneficiaries of the team still missing Nelson and Ty Montgomery in team drills, getting more snaps with the starters. He certainly showed against Arizona that he deserves those opportunities - now he needs to take advantage of them.

Receiver Group Comes Down To Montgomery | Cheesehead TV
While we're talking about Montgomery, another Packers analyst says that the situation with his ankle "doesn't look very promising." This article echoes the concerns that our Paul Noonan discussed a few days ago about the second-year wideout's ankle, and we're now all wondering if he will start training camp on the PUP list (but certainly hoping that he can resume practicing soon).

Packers elevate importance of safeties | Packersnews.com
The Packers have one of the more solid safety tandems in the NFL, which is a far cry from how the position looked in 2013. Mike McCarthy now sees that position as one of the critical ones on defense based on the evolution of the league in recent years.

Green Bay Packers G T.J. Lang hopes repaired shoulder helps him - ESPN
Lang's nagging shoulder issue finally caught up to him this offseason - he missed a game because of it late last year and went ahead with surgery after the season concluded. He should be back to 100% by training camp, and is ready to put that issue behind him and focus on staying healthy.

The Broncos expect Talib to recover fully, but this is certainly an unpleasant situation for all involved.
