Get ready for some real practice to discuss and break down today as Green Bay opens OTAs.
It's finally here. After five long months of draft speculation, free agency moves (or lack thereof), and impatience, the Green Bay Packers finally begin their quest for a 14th NFL championship today as they hit the field for their first Organized Team Activities practice.
Today's practice will be closed to the public, but we should have some looks inside the Don Hutson Center thanks to media availability. If we're lucky, we might even get a press conference from Mike McCarthy to over-analyze. Then the public will get its first look at the 2016 team on Tuesday as practice moves outside to Ray Nitschke Field.
In today's practice, there is a slew of young players looking to impress as they take the field for the first time (not counting rookie minicamp) as NFL players. Likewise, a few of the holdovers from last year's team look to earn more permanent spots on the roster. Cornerback Robertson Daniel is one of the latter category, while guard Cory Tucker falls in the first group, and both are profiled in today's curds, along with a look at the Packers' special teams and some interesting tidbits from around the NFL.

It's entirely feasible that Crosby will be the only one of the Packers' specialists who opened last season on the active roster to make it again this year. Tim Masthay and Peter Mortell will both be practicing as the holder for Crosby's kicks, and Brett Goode is still a free agent after suffering a torn ACL late last season.

Cory Tucker came to Green Bay on a tryout basis in minicamp, and was originally only going to pack a small bag of clothes, but at the behest of his agent he packed a full suitcase. After earning a contract, he's glad he did, as the D-II lineman will be spending the next month in Green Bay.
