Green Bay got some banged-up players back after a long weekend, and it seems that conserving a veteran's workload has been a good move this season.

Though the Green Bay Packers usually hold their first practice of the week on Wednesday, this week they held a light practice on Tuesday after having a long weekend off following Thursday's win in Detroit. The layoff apparently helped several of the injured Packers, as many players returned to the field after being missing a week ago.

The offensive line in particular got a boost, which will be necessary as the Packers go up against a hot defense on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Julius Peppers has been playing a little less this season than he did a year ago, thanks in part to the availability of the Packers' other outside linebackers. It hasn't hurt his production at all though - in fact, the result has been quite the opposite, with him putting up better numbers than in 2014.

Dallas defense has Packers' attention | Packers.com
The Cowboys' 4-8 record is due to injuries and ineffectiveness on offense, not the play of their defense. They have given up just 275 yards and 18 points per game over their past four contests, but the offense has turned the ball over nine times in that span.

The extra rest, whether in-game or during the week, did Peppers good last Thursday, as he registered that big strip-sack of Matthew Stafford. Furthermore, he is on pace to exceed last year's pass rushing production, despite being projected for 170 fewer snaps than he played in 2014.

Police finally return seized cash, truck to Green Bay Packers' Letroy Guion - ESPN
Law enforcement in Florida gave Guion back the property that they seized in Guion's marijuana-related arrest earlier this year, and Guion is back after a long weekend, apparently rejuvenated. Guion made a seemingly innocent but appropriate comment that "the smoke is starting to clear."
