With less than a month to go until the traded deadline, the Brewers sent infielder Aaron Hill and cash considerations to the Red Sox for right-hander Aaron Wilkerson and second baseman Wendell Rijo.

Nice deal. Hill was not a part of the future plan and they got a couple of prospects for him. Even with cash thrown in it makes a bunch of sense financially. They probably save at least a few million depending on how much cash was added to the deal. Wilkerson, the pitcher actually seems like he's been doing pretty well in the minors at AAA. He may figure into the Brewers plan as early as this year if they decided to just replace Garza in the rotation at some point - though I think you pitch Garza every 5 days until well into August to see if you can pull off a deal for him.

Rijo is a youngster so who knows what he becomes in the next 2-3 years.
 
It all comes down to how much case was involved. Personally I think he's has a bit more value and closer to the deadline could have brought more.
