The first of the so-called "skill positions" takes the field for workouts on Friday.

The offensive linemen are wrapping up their on-field work on Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine, but that means that the running backs are up. As I write this, the backs are beginning to run their 40-yard dashes and go through the rest of their physical testing.

Alabama's Derrick Henry, who measured in at 6' 2-5/8" and 247 pounds, ran an unofficial 4.54-second 40-yard dash in his first attempt, while Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott - who is largely expected to be the first running back off the board - unofficially ran in 4.46 seconds.

The Green Bay Packers may be interested in running backs, as James Starks is set to become a free agent this March. The running back class is full of intriguing receiving backs in the middle rounds, which could make some of them intriguing options for Ted Thompson and company.

Stay tuned here as we update the results of the workouts throughout the afternoon and follow along with the rest of our Friday open thread here.
