Our View: Jeanty is already on campus and adjusting to college life. His career at UW will be interesting to follow, as both T.J. Edwards and Chris Orr solidified the inside linebacker positions last season as freshmen. Will he get on the field early in his career or become a backup until late?

Jeanty was a personal recruit of former defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, and those types of picks are usually guys who show up early. It is easy to see why the Badgers liked him enough to pull away from other inside linebacker candidates over the summer.

He also started in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl game for the East, speaking volumes to his skill set on the national level. There’s also the fact that Jeanty was being looked at as an offer by Ivy League schools that should speak volumes to his intelligence to go along with his skill set.

Personally, I love what I’ve seen from Jeanty but it may be some time before he sees major minutes given the logjam at inside linebacker right now. Look for it to be a year or two before Jeanty becomes a major contributor on this team.
