The GM thing is the key, Gute isn't a really good talent guy no matter how you slice it. We insist on this goofy 34 scheme that hasn't done much in a decade. Mark's right Murphy played all that while with the Redskins and is in love with it.
My gut says that if ML had his way he would run a 43...
I agree with that but also you have to ask yourself " Why Cobb" he didn't do anything last yr and other then being Aaron's buddy what's his value? I would have added another younger WR in that spot.
Color me skeptical on the defense. Our DC has a history of under achieving when given talent, I'll have to have 4-5 regular season games under my belt to really get a feel for what they can do as preseason is a joke anymore.
I don't like we had to "deal" with a player who frankly had a nice 3 year contract on the books. To me GB just set a precedent that if your a "star" we will bend the rules to accommodate you.
Some of you are fine with that and I get it but for those of us who are not please allow us to voice...
It was a total team loss.
Defense - I don't think anything needs to be said
Special teams - A shanked punt, Ervin muffed a kickoff return, and gave up a 26 yard punt return
Offense - Had only 1 good drive in first half and it ended on a fluke fumble. More then anything the O had to start fast...
These games are for evaluating INDIVIDUAL players. Couldn't care less if we win 40-0 or lose 0-40. I want to see which guys win their individual match ups, improve on their own technique, have a nose for the ball, improve their timing and those that look like they belong
Hear the same song and dance each week and each week we have to come from behind or we find a new way too lose. Save the "rah rah" green and gold cheerleader stuff. Packers come from behind and win on a FG. 38-35
Packers secondary in 2015:
Casey Hayward
Micah Hyde
Damarious Randall
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Morgan Burnett
Sam Shields
Quinten Rollins
Three years later and they're all gone.
"McCarthy's thoughts on how #Packers should approach player acquisition: "Draft and develop still needs to be the core of who you are. We've done it well for 12 years.""
No, no you haven't.
A 8-8 team but Ted the toad will show all the warts without AR,
I am pulling for Hundley, interested to see how this team does 3-4 weeks from now. I expect they will be jacked up Sunday but after that it might get bumpy. Still going to be watching ! gopackgo
Can't remember which one, but one of the talking heads said that he can play outside or inside, and may eventually move inside. That makes this pick more interesting. IMO Clay should have moved permanently inside (with a few outside snaps or stunts) 3 years ago, whether he wanted to or not. Kind...
Delanie Walker ripped the Packers for 9 rec / 124 yd / 1 TD.
Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed are going to run all over the field and make the Packers D look foolish for yet another week.
This time its not going to matter how frequent Montgomery is on the field. NBC is going to wish they could...
Ragland is hard to get a read on. Definitely a chance he slips, but in the same breath he could go as high as the Bears at 11. If teams prefer going faster, they might opt for Lee. Depending on team boards, Ragland might be a hard sell as BPA in many cases, especially with so many teams needing...
Bennett was a VERY good RB coach, then WR coach. A real stickler for details and doing "the little things" that each position excelled at under his tutelage. I'm sure they promoted him to OC so that another team couldn't grab him, but I really wish he would be OC/WR coach and get that position...
Couple of players away is what we heard the last 2 seasons. Got close and let it go in Seattle. This years fiasco was really one hail Mary away in Detroit of really being a circus. It's getting more obvious to many people in and outside of Green Bay the window is closing. Ted and the gang better...
