Grain a salt again.... The DB coach and Hafley have a history, he'll stay on staff in some capacity. LB might be where he brings someone on staff but still hard to believe this to be fully true knowing GB history.
Missed opportunities. Missed opportunities. Missed opportunities.
This will be remembered as a “woulda, coulda, shoulda” loss.
Team grew up this season. Future looks good. But this could have been a magical playoff run out of somewhat nowhere.
+ Love - Best he's looked this year. I'm not a fan of how often he throws off his back foot but it works because he's seeing the pressure and the gaps in the secondary. And damn he looks cool navigating the pocket.
+ MLF - he takes a lot of flac on this board but he called a great game...
My take:
The Good
Love - looked very good. Some really good passes and some not so good. Good decisions. The not so good throws were overthrown balls, but that can be fixed.
O-line (except Myers) - Didn't read the stat line, but can only remember one sack, which I believe was a coverage sake...
I got to see the game on NFL Network - thankful for that, but not thankful for having to listen to the damned Bengal commentators and their stupid interviews while seldom naming Packer tacklers. I had to have my roster numbers handy most of the time.
It was a fun and entertaining game with a...
Glad it's finally done. 30+ years of HOF QB play. Will that trend continue? It's improbable. But I am excited for the new chapter and will be rooting for Love.
Yes, he does convey himself as a victim. He is very tactful about it. And now he has “nothing but love and appreciation” for “everybody in the Packer organization”. Even so, he paints one side of the story and leaves out some details. Conveniently.
And for the second week in a row, in a must-win situation, Barry can’t deliver. This time, his defense wasn’t even in the same zip code of where we needed it to be. I don’t know what else anyone needs to see.
We finally score some points and give up 40. It feels like 1985 all over again.
Looks like we were so busy from beating our chests from beating Dallas on Sunday that we forgot that we've generally looked like trash all season and resumed looking like trash tonight.
Yup. And the OL wasn't great, they couldn't get the running game going(but with Zach Tom playing, he's not physical enough to really move guys).
A couple weeks ago I took issue with his...behavior on field and some off-field comments(EDIT-I meant to say I thought he'd been much more positive...
Amari Rodgers muffs another punt... Not sure why he is our punt returner. He showed in the preseason that he couldn't reliably catch a punt. Not really electric as a returner anyway.
OL actually held up pretty well; granted they did a lot of short passes, but improved from last week.
Rodgers...
Just finished rewatching the game( couldn't sleep) and this is like a bad joke. Whatever downfield accuracy Rodgers used to have is totally gone. And not just being injured this week, because it's been every week this season. I've heard a lot of commentary about how defenses are playing GB short...
Two things are near certain with this current iteration of the Packers:
1) If the team gives up a score or gets punched in the mouth, they will near assuredly witness A-Rod go for three straight shots and punt. It is almost certain they will not stay the course (not that using their best weapon...
This isn’t Wisconsin 1990 when half the stadium was full. Football revenue rules college athletics. The Badgers have done relatively well the last 30 years. They’ve invested and upgraded Camp Randall twice during that timeframe. The program has expected followers to pay back their loyalty...
Some Thoughts~
Special Teams
It's NOT that hard to stay in your lane. You have a couple of free runners...generally, but you can go and see 3-4 guys who are well out of their lanes as the KRer gets out past the 10. Lazy sloppy mistakes
DL-We're going to likely cut 2-3 guys who would have been...
There were a couple big mistakes and if he were our starting QB this year, I'd be very concerned. I'm grading him A-Against himself from last year and B-as a 23 year old QB with obvious physical talent. I'm not hanging all the other crap on him that's got nothing to do with him.
It's the...
With firmly in place...
Some random thoughts on the schedule for this year:
I think it shapes up favorably. It's not hard to see another 12 or 13 win season and another Division Championship.
It seems there will be 1 "big" game every month; TB-Sept, Buffalo-Oct, Titans-Nov, and Rams-Dec. The...
If they don’t take a WR in the 1st, I will be disappointed. It’s a talent rich one and they seem to work out more often than they don’t. I think Olave is my first choice, Williams #2, Burks #3, Watson #4 of the guys that could be around at 22. I wouldn’t be surprised if the pick is Raimann at...
