Official 2017 NFC Championship Game Thread : Green Bay vs Atlanta

Packers need Adams and Allison to play if their injuries make it they can't go the odds of the Packers winning go way down and I am also figuring Nelson is a very long shot and unlikely to play in this.

Allison said it was a precautionary rest yesterday. Adams is a question mark but I still think Jordy plays Sunday

Adams with the rehab group as well as Jordy and Burnett. Word is that Rollins is in the concussion protocol but practiced hard. Geronimo Allison not at practice. Undisclosed reason

I thought I heard Geronimo has a sore hammy... sh))

Burnett and Adams are expected to play. Geronimo was held out as a precaution per his own quote and I'd expect him to play.

NFCC in the middle of this run - it's play or die trying. Backups have to be ready but I'd be surprised and a little disappointed if everyone but Jordy wasn't active.

I'm sorry but I think this is where the ride ends. The Falcons are a great football team and have been playing excellent football themselves. Right now, I'd have to say we are a little too banged up. In addition, we are coming off a game which took every ounce of energy and strength both physically and emotionally.

I'm pleasantly surprised the way this season turned out after the tough start and enjoyed watching this last half of the season.

Falcons 38
packers 34

This isn't a Rodgers vs Ryan contest. It's far from that. Rodgers is going in without a supporting cast of running backs, and WRs. Injuries have taken their toll. The Falcons have Freeman and Coleman at RB. Both are enormous talents. We have Michael. That's it.

At WR they have Julio Jones. One of the best in the game. We Have injured players, and at this time, we may have all of our top 3 WRs on the bench. We're really in trouble here as well.

On defense, we have so many injured defensive backs that it's impossible to see how we can hold the Falcons under 5 or 6 TDs. They're one of the highest scoring teams in the last few years, and they are well balanced with the run and pass. We, on the other hand, are injured, and barely hobbling on the field.

There's only one thing that we can hold on to. The Packers are special. Just getting to this game is something that looked impossible, 10 games into the season. People were looking at us possibly being the worst team in our division. Yet, out of the chaos, here they are, on the verge of a game that would put them in another Super Bowl game.

We can be pragmatic, and say they've done a great job, and even if they lose, they've given it their best. We can get on the bandwagon and say they're going to win, and stick to that conviction, no matter what.

On Sunday, in Atlanta, the Packers season will probably end. But, it won't end on a low note, no matter what the score is, at the end. Just the fact they've made it to this game is something that shows what these guys are made of. Nobody, no matter what the score, can take that away from them.

If anyone wants to get down on them, just remember that not only have they battled injuries, but this week the flu bug has even decimated them further. Adversity is thrown in their faces - constantly.

I'm not going to predict a score. I'm going to say that no matter what the score is, this year's Packer team will always be winners, because of the way they handled adversity all season.
