Wow, things get tougher as we continue to win. Now we are picking at 20. With the recent discovery of Ty Montgomery as a RB and Michael as backup, I've quit looking at RB as a position of need. At least not a priority need. Also, Jabril Peppers seems to be falling. He seems to be a player without a position. With only 1, yes ONE, career interception you don't even know if he has ball skills. At 205 lbs he is a very small LB. I think that's why he seems to be available to us around 20. Reminds me of the year no one thought we could get HaHa, but yet he fell to us. So, here goes. This is my favorite so far:

20: R1P20
LB JABRILL PEPPERS MICHIGAN - 6' 0" 205 we're in nickel 70% anyway.
52: R2P20
CB QUINCY WILSON FLORIDA - big, fast CB. 6'1" 210 We need more competition back there.
84: R3P20
TE EVAN ENGRAM MISSISSIPPI - 6'3" 235 Fast H-back type receiving TE.
123: R4P20
DL JAKE REPLOGLE PURDUE - 6'5" 295 A more athletic Lowry.
162: R5P20
OT JULIE'N DAVENPORT BUCKNELL - 6'6" 310. Pushes Barclay out the door, finally!
199: R6P20
LB T.J. WATT WISCONSIN - 6'5" 245 A playmaker with intensity
211: R6P32
WR TAYWAN TAYLOR WESTERN KENTUCKY - 6'0" 210 Saban called him the best WR Alabama faced all year.
238: R7P20
EDGE TANOH KPASSAGNON VILLANOVA - 6'7" 290 Athletic, poor man's Peppers
253: R7P35
TE JEREMY SPRINKLE ARKANSAS - 6'5" 260 good solid combo TE. Blocker and receiver.

Some interesting drafts here. Kind of catching up. While these are great and fun to do, when it comes time of the real draft, many players in rounds that you guys are getting them at won't be there of course.

With us drafting later and later near end round 1 and given recent play of team on field, my LOT has changed some now, as went through in recent Draft Thoughts.

I do really enjoy reading these.

The anti -TT draft and one that the model didn't grade high but screw them:

Traded down in round 1 :

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 32 (DAL): Pat Elflein, C/OG, Ohio State (B+)
Round 2 Pick 21: Desmond King, CB, Iowa (A+)
Round 2 Pick 32 (DAL): Charles Harris, DE, Missouri (A+)
Round 3 Pick 28 (NYG): Elijah Hood, RB, North Carolina (B)
Round 3 Pick 32 (DAL): Stacy Coley, WR, Miami (Fla.) (B+)
Round 4 Pick 21: Cole Hikutini, TE, Louisville (B+)
Round 4 Pick 28 (NYG): Vince Biegel, OLB, Wisconsin (A-)
Round 5 Pick 21: Brandon Facyson, CB, Virginia Tech (A+)
Round 5 Pick 28 (NYG): Jake Replogle, DT, Purdue (A-)
Round 6 Pick 21: Tanzel Smart, DT, Tulane (A+)
Round 7 Pick 21: Tony Conner, SS, Ole Miss (B-)

Elflein can play all 3 inside OL spots... hard to come by and a no brainier pick IMHO.King replaces Shields who needs to call it a career... add in Facyson and you just fixed your corner issues and can play man press to boot ( No more Capers 2 deep zone).

Coley is moving up the boards..he runs fantastic routes and spent last yr in a pro offense.. great value. Jake Replogle and Tanzel Smart are 2 high motor and high character guys not many people draft but Replogle leads in the locker room... IMHO we need more of them and less Mike Pennal. ( Replogle gave UW fits vs Purdue)

Last note is Tony Conner a hybrid SS/LB... he hurt a knee his jr yr but still has gas in the tank. Worth a 7th to see if he can play in the pros.

I really like Replogle and Smart. Agree totally on taking the injury risk with our 7th rounders. Conner could be an animal in the nickel and dime packages.
I also like Elflein, but I don't know if we should use our first pick on a player who wouldn't start sooner. He would really shore up the OL, but I think our defensive needs might trump that spot.
I also think that Hikutini fills the receiving TE role. Nice sleeper pick!

Nice one, however a few notes.....

Harris and King are looking like 1st rd to early 2nd rounders. King will depend on what his real height is as to whether he can be a Cover Corner or Nickle which will dictate whether he's a high pick or drops. Currently have him as round 1 pick for us in a new Mock am working on.

Hood is a RB I like outside of the top 4. Like his on field. Debate is whether he was just a good college back and might not have the speed to translate to the NFL. We have seen guys like this prove people wrong time and time again. Currently have him in the round 4-5 range depending on workout numbers. Talent wise have him higher then rating.

One debate am having with myself is what need is greater? RB or TE? If all things equal at time of pick.

Corey is another player on my list you broke out ahead of me posting ( along with King)
