This is a perfect game for UW to come out roaring and make a statement.

Mertz will be lucky to survive. I won't believe they are capable of beating a B1G team until they do. IL will be blitzing right through the run lanes like Penn State, Notre Dame, and Michigan, and our moribund offensive scheme will run right up and get planted.

IL is not a statement game they suck. We have seen the real UW team already. Thing is I think UW is more likely to play down to the IL talent level.

IL is pretty bad right now so if they struggle to beat IL then there are bigger issues then we think. Though it is possible this team could have it's trouble with IL and if they do I think you will hear the drum beat louder for people demanding change at UW.

And the change is not coming at the HC level. Fans can beat that drum all they want. No program is going to can a guy based on one down year, oh yeah FSU did but that’s a different situation. Yes staff changes need to happen regardless of Saturdays result.

A good game to get their sea legs back. Come out strong and put it on them early and don't let up.

I still think UW rolls the Illini. Might even be a blowout.
