Aaron Rodgers new contract

I remember over at PC some writer must have followed that site because I remember he quoted me from PC on a post I made about Drew Rosehaus. Makes you wonder if any players or coaches or writers are on this site as lurkers and read posts but don't post themselves.
I don't think so. But a good bit of the content out there is from bloggers. To be honest a lot of the stuff posted here over the years has been more fruitful then on those sites. It's really hard to find good knowledgeable sports journalism anymore, part of that is the fall out from the death of print press and the move to web based publishing IMHO.

If so, I hope they know I'm really not a prick in real life....

That's what I was getting at Mark. Some of these threads get some pretty in depth analysis and some great opinions. Someone could pluck some good, intellectual info from this site....especially from me.

I have no doubt that journalists lurk on sites like this. Heck, there was a sports writer for the MilwJS who openly posted on a Badgers board I would visit on occasion. Not sure if he does anymore as I don't frequent that board.

I doubt players and coaches lurk, but I would not be surprised if the teams have interns or someone like that checking things out. Gives them a way to gauge what fans are thinking.

Also, I'm sure players family members will check sites like this. I know the father of one of the d-line guys for the Vikings was checking out a Packer site at one point.

So just speculation / opinion

#12 deal ends after 2019 season CBA expires after 2020
Team could play the deal out with a tag in 2020, low risk high reward
#12 wants some security after 2019 not just a tag (See Cousins)

So with the tag he would be 36 at end of deal with tag, how much risk do you take? (extend 3 years?) McCarthy has stated Kizer would have been been a 1st round pick in this years draft (roll eyes) and history shows the organization is willing to move on (Favre). I do not think the opt out is the issue its contract length and guarantee $$. 3 yrs vs 5 and guarantee $$ to make ACV is in line with Ryan

I think you hit the nail on the head. At some point GB has to look ahead and to not do so could come back to bite the organization big time. Good to have you back Packinatl !

What's the big deal? We have Hundley, after all. Give him a 2 year supply of chewing gum and we are set !

Think it was something after he saved a kid from drowning that I said something like while a great thing he did he's still a snake that I would not cry over if he got hit by a bus.
