Young QB Tim Boyle gives Packers a do-over for Taysom Hill

If Rodgers does plan to go another 5 more years when do you get serious about drafting a replacement? 2 years? 3 years at the latest?

You have 2 #1 picks next yr. Perfect time to pull the trigger.
Thorson, Cole and Stidham were guys who were well thought of this past year. Plus, there will be a couple more who garner attention next fall. Don't wait until it's too late. It's a QB driven league and I'd like to see us continue our incredible run of stellar QB play.

Would you spend a #1 on a QB if you extend Rodgers 5 years? Good chance you then either never play that guy and leaves as a FA or face another Favre situation were you could face a nasty divorce.

Yes. Extend Rodgers. Draft a guy. Sit him 3 years. If he can't play oh well you still have Aaron. If he can, trade Aaron will likely still be tradeable.

For all the angst in the last 'divorce' the Packers came out of it pretty good.

Mark suggested that next year would be a good option to draft a QB. It does make sense. It doesn't matter how it plays out with Rodgers to be honest. He's very much aware of how the Packers show their allegiance to players that show allegiance to them. He may even take the same attitude of Favre, and not mentor the new guy. It's hard to say.

Rodgers is now at a point in his career where the fun is over, and now it's all about money, and future opportunities based on how he does statistically, and with championship chances. The Packers would be a great vehicle for him, but rest assured, he'd go anywhere else that pretty much insured him a shot at another Lombardi Trophy and ring.

If the right guy is out there next year, pull the trigger. If not, find a way to parlay that extra first round pick into an even better first round pick in 2020, so you can get pretty much the pick of the litter.

I hope I'm wrong but my gut tells me Aaron's playing style is going to determine his future with GB more than anything. You can only break your collarbones so many times before it effects your ability to throw.

It's disconcerting that we keep hearing about McCarthy's "great" QB school, and not one guy can hold a candle to anyone among those groomed by the Packers during the Wolf era.

I agree with the second part no question, but one of the things the most recent CBA accomplished was absolutely gutting what MM is able to do with his 'school'
