Day 2 prepper

When I saw how crazy and unstable McKinney was I actually regretted that we didn't get him. Lol. I mean like Dubz said, that was truly the most bizarre, unhinged reaction to being drafted I've ever seen with the giant photo of grandma and everything. Holy cow. With Bennett and Francois in the locker room, add this guy and it'd be reeeeal fun.

Is there anyone left who you might be willing to send a couple of picks in 2018 for? Say we sent our 2018 1st to draft Mixon this year. Then we could pick Edge and CB with our other two seconds this year.

If you don't want to give up our 1st, how about a 2nd and 4th next year? It is anticipated that we will have up to 11 picks next year so maybe we use that collateral to move up or just get an extra pick this year?
How about we take Mixon at 33, trade next years 2nd and 4th to the Jets for #39 and take Rivers/Bowser then top it off with Sidney Jones with #61?

I see more trade downs. TT wants to restock the shelves, looking for more of those 2006-2009 roster overhaul drafts

Dubz - there isn't anyone that I would give up 2018 picks for. But I'm always pretty stingy with those. I'd rather package 2017 picks to move up. Something like our 2nd, 4th and our 5th comp pick to move up towards the middle of round 2.

This draft has fallen great for the Packers so far. We've already added pick #108 and still have multiple decent options available at #33. Maybe there will be a run on defensive backs now, but I think we could still get a good one at #61. And I may be overvaluing Bowser, but I'm always a sucker for those OLB types that are very athletic. But if we could end up with one of Bowser/Willis and one of King/Awuzie/Witherspoon/Moreau at the end of round 2 I'll be very happy.
A safety prospect like Obi or Williams or even Maye or Josh Jones might work, too.

Add in a bigger RB to complement Montgomery and a couple of offensive linemen for depth and it will be a great draft.

I really liked how TT signed two TE, a CB and an OG prior to the draft. Who didn't get replaced? Lacy, Hyde and Peppers/Datone Jones.

A mediocre/sucky team calls offering next year's 1st rounder for pick 33... What say you?

Help now, or potential impact later...

I say you draft the BPA which was the top rated MLB and upgrade a position that's been average for 5 plus years. If Foster and Watt become all pro's TT will look like a complete idiot with this move.

Unless you're pretty sure that it will be a top-10 pick I'd pass. A few years ago, New England gave up a late 2nd-rounder for the Saints #1 the following year to draft Ingram, I believe.

Now if it a swap of 2nd round picks with a 1st next year, I'd probably do that. But #33 is almost a first-round pick in this year's draft which is pretty deep. I wouldn't trade that for a next year first that could be in the 20's and maybe that draft won't be nearly as deep.

I'd also consider a conditional trade. So we get their 2018 first round pick if it is top 15 and if it is 16 or later, we get their 2nd or 3rd round pick, too - something like that.

I meant how about a team offers the aforementioned trade today? Would you essentially trade our 1st pick for a likely high 1st round pick next year (+ the 4th round pick we already got), or stand pat and pick?

It's true there's no guarantee those guys won't make TT look like a fool. But he had them at hand and passed. Tells me how he and his scouts view them.

If he were a GM under pressure to sell tickets, he would've picked Watt for sure. Casual fans would be elated, cash register would go ka-ching, bloggers would rave about how we filled a need. Easy. Popular.

But he graded him and Foster at same or lower than the prospects we're about to pick, and TT sure does not care one bit about making fans happy. He got a favorable trade (draft chart-wise), gets a pick of similarly-graded prospects, gained a strategic position to make further moves up and down the draft. It's stone cold, but how I like it done.

Halfway there - got my favorite remaining CB!
