I have seen a couple Mock drafts that have the packers taking TJ Watt in the first round. What do you guys think? Everyone wants to see him become the latest version of his older brother but I'm not sure he can or will. He is solid against the run but I am not sure he can get the pass rush against NFL o-lines that he did in college.

Anything above mid 2nd is risky with TJ, not as dominating as his brother IMHO.If GB gets him in the 2nd then yeah go for it...late 1st has to be a starting corner IMHO.

would love to have Watt in green bay but I do agree 29 might be a little soon. He is going to need to add some muscle weight.

I would prefer a few other pass rushers but cant go wrong with the bloodline and type of person your getting. He will improve

I would consider a second round pick for him. He is an animal like his brother just doesn't have the size. TT hasn't been big in drafting UW players for some reason and Abby was an exception.

Agree with the 2nd round value. He does have good size and he is a playmaker, but the speed isn't there for a first rounder. He is still relatively new to the position so there is room for improvement. You know he WILL put the work in and his field awareness is remarkable. TTs aversion to Badgers reminds me of Wolf when he took TBuck over Troy Vincent in his first draft.

Sorry but he is a lot like JJ. The year JJ came out there were a lot of pass rushers. Draft sites and fan sites didn't have him at first in rd 1 either at first. I knew he was going to be good from watching UW and the other rushers in the draft. I was very high on him and mocked him to the Pack and took some heat that year.

Then not only rd 1 but high rd 1 and maybe the best DE since White. Of course no one saw that coming.

TJ is still kind of new to position yet grew leaps and bounds. What is more important then his speed numbers is his motor and football intelligence. He's first scratching the surface and his ceiling is high imo.

No way he lasts until our Rd 2 pick and IF he does will be very surprised!

Our 1st rd pick is close to 2nd rd. Everyone wants an impact player here. By our pick the CBs, DL, will be picked over imo and would hate to see TT over reach again making a panic pick.

Where we are drafting at would have no problem taking TJ and like JJ teams that pass on him think will regret it. That's my opinion ☺

TJ Watt is getting over hyped because of his last name. If his last name is not Watt there is no talk of him being a 1st round pick. Instead he is going in the 2-3rd round.

disagree. The name helps some but athletic pass rushers get hype. He had better combine then clay and is only scratching the surface of being an olb.

Then are we sure we want him to come here?
sc))
I would answer with a resounding YES. Think of the level he played the position at, then consider that he's relatively new to that position. He had very good combine numbers AND he makes plays. I hope TT trades up in the second round to nab him (much like he did with Spriggs last year). I like the idea of CMIII, Fack and TJ lining up all over the place.
